Want to hear how you sound?

The bottom line

  • As you sing, we record and mix your best takes with the original song. This is called your rendition.

  • To hear your rendition, sing some lines then tap the orange white button and say, “Play my recording”.

The whole story

Pitch is where artists teach you their songs. As you learn, sing, and nail the song you may wonder: how am I doing?

Introducing Pitch Rendition. As you sing, we record and mix your best takes with the original song. Now you can sing with the artist and then instantly hear how it sounds. This is called your rendition.

Go ahead, it's your turn in the spotlight! On iOS first make sure to connect your headphones (read why here). Sing some lines then tap the orange white button and say, “Play my recording”. Your rendition will play. To go back and work on the song, tap the button again and say, “What’s next”. Don’t worry, your audio is safe. Renditions only exist within your app. We don’t save or use your audio anywhere within our backend systems.

How did we do this? Pitch uses your score to identify lines you sing well. We then take what you sang for those lines (from the headset microphone) and mix it with the song’s original audio. When Pitch has enough of your voice audio to complete a section (or even the whole song), we’ll ask if you want to hear it. You can also ask for your rendition any time by saying “Play my recording”.

Here's what this sounds like:
